Representations: Women in the Media

We have been doing a lot of work about the topic of representations recently of all kinds of people but seeing as we will be doing more work in future around magazines and advertising i thought i would include this here... its a shocking image of a Ralph Lauren advert. The advert was an example of attempts to 'slim down' the model using photoshop although it looks totally out of proportion.. it does however highlight how crazy the people who make these ads are and how much pressure they put on girls / women to be far too thin.. i have put a picture of the actual model below so you can compare... Crazy huh ?????
